Our 2018 STEM Conference featured interactive presentations by NYSCI, Queens Botanical Garden, FDNY, and more! Community members also shared presentations about diverse STEM fields including architecture, biology, forensic science, and midwifery.
Middle school aged girls got to learn about the basics of architecture and engineering from two industry professionals. They got to build their own geodesic domes and even received a visit from New York State Senator Jessica Ramos and U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. We thank these leaders for their support!
“The Prize” tells the story of Dr. Patricia E. Bath, the first female African American doctor to receive a medical patent. Dr. Bath used her invention to restore sight in many people who were blind.
This play was created and produced for us by Cindy L. Cooper, a prolific and award winning playwright, journalist, and author.
